One of the sad things about people leaving us is the memories they take with them. We hear many of them over the years but some disappear never to return. After all, who knows how ancient Britons spent their days in any detail?
Now that is understandable but not knowing how people lived fifty years ago really is terrible. The BBC are showing an interesting series, called Nation on file, broadcasting film footage of years gone by in England. It is unusual in that it captures the normal everyday folk going about their daily existence. Enjoy the banal it's never as banal as you think!
Of course sometimes after loved ones leave us you hear things that remained hidden while they lived. Alan Bennett's 'Untold Stories' tells us something of these affairs. What a wonderful world?
